Character Information:
Name: Dawn
Series (and canon name if different from above): Pokémon Platinum.
Age: 11
Poke-profession: Trainer, but she also enjoys participating in contests so one could say she's also a coordinator.
Home Town: Twinleaf Town
Current town: Hearthome City
Appearance: A young pretty girl with straight blue hair that went down to around her waistline and innocent blue eyes to match. Dawn pulls part of her hair from around the back and holds it up at the front with two pink clips, which are partially concealed by the white beanie hat that she usually sports. Her usual wear consists of a crimson red one-piece dress with long sleeves and six buttons going from the top to bottom, but the top two are concealed by a white scarf. To match the dress, she almost always carries her white purse on her right shoulder. She also carries the pink Pokétch that she was given a while ago Though the dress is somewhat short, going down to at most above her shins, she wears a pair of white stockings with tall pink boots.
However, during contests, Dawn changes into this dress that her mom gave her upon leaving home the first time. The dress itself is pink with a white bow at the collar and the ends had white frills surrounded. Also, Dawn puts her white beanie in her bag and ties a matching pink ribbon behind her head.
Oh, and while she didn't really keep a Pokémon at her side a year ago, she now keeps at least one Pokémon at her side... but only if they feel like up for it and aren't too tired. It's usually Vulpix who's out of their Pokéball, walking beside her, sitting in her arms or in the basket on her bicycle.
Personality: For the most part, Dawn is an optimistic and very enthusiastic girl who isn't easily discouraged by many things. But because of that, she could be easily fooled or taken advantage of. Hence her Pokémon are rather protective of her. Dawn is also rather set on her goals, though they can change, but once she is set, she will pursue them to her best. There will be turbulences along the way and Dawn may falter into a depression, but with her Pokémon's help, they usually pull her right back up.
But on an overall level, Dawn is enthusiastic for new challenges and things to try, regardless of the circumstances and even after dealing with all the events that took place in Sinnoh a year ago. However, because of those experiences and her eagerness, she can appear as a nuisance to others. She usually tries to research on something before partaking in a new challenge, and even researching for others before they go out into the field and warning them of all the risks, etc. Dawn really means for the best and for safety, but others can take it the wrong way. She's also really concerned over others' wellbeing.
Abilities: Dawn can really be with the Pokémon and understand the feelings in the heart without much words, if any.
History: When she started her first Pokémon journey, she was very enthusiastic to get her first Pokémon. At first, Dawn wanted to become a great Pokémon coordinator like her mother, but somewhere along the lines, fate threw her onto another path and she decides to focus on being a trainer first. But despite training her Pokémon and battling other trainers, Dawn still loves to participate in the Super Contests.
It was her first encounter with Professor Rowan, Pearl/Jun and Team Galatic that she decided to aspire to be a great Pokémon Trainer. From there on, Dawn trained and caught valuable Pokémon to battle with various Team Galactic members and even the administrators. She vowed to train with her partners, to restore peace to Sinnoh and eventually challenge th Pokémon League. Her goals were accomplished, though it was no easy process. Well, she had at least challenged the Pokémon League after restoring peace from Team Galactic.
Though her 'goals' seemed finished, Dawn still wishes to continue her journey as a trainer to raise her Pokémon to battle other trainers or compete with other Coordinators. After restoring peace to Sinnoh, Dawn also left some of her Pokémon with Professor Rowan so she could start training and raising other kinds of Pokémon. The only ones she kept with her were her Milotic and Pachirisu, which was the star for the Super Contests.
Pokemon information: (one for each pokemon you want your character to start with)
Name: Hinou, nicknamed Hi-chan.
Breed: Vulpix
Gender: Female
Personality: A modest Vulpix, she can be quite shy with strangers or any human or Pokémon she's not very acquainted with. But once she's played with them for a while, Hinou is very playful and friendly. She's very loyal to Dawn and would protect her at all cost, even if she was still a small Vulpix.
However, Hinou can also get a little jealous of the other Pokémon especially Pachirisu who also gets the chance to be out of his Pokéball and perform with Dawn for the Super Contests. Although she does get jealous, Hinou is too shy to do anything about it, even if she's always with the other Pokémon and so, the Staravia often teases her.
History: She met Dawn around Hearthome City, after peace had returned to Sinnoh. At first sight, Hinou immediately loved the young blue-haired trainer, but being so bashful, she was too afraid to approach. Fortunately, Dawn noticed the little red fox and approached carefully, giving her little treats when Hinou would approach closer as well.
Name: Hichou, nicknamed Chou-chan.
Breed: Staravia
Gender: Male
Personality: Like Dawn's Milotic, Hichou is rather reserved and quiet. But if Dawn was in any way threatened or in harm's way, this bird will not hesitate to strike the opponent. He can be rather protective over his trainer, from both Pokémon and human alike. Another thing unlike the Milotic, the other team members don't look up to him and instead, sometimes tease him playfully or become jealous as he's pretty powerful on his own. Perhaps second in power in the entire team, Han-gang the Milotic being the first.
History: Hichou met Dawn shortly after peace returned to Sinnoh, as a Starly. He had injured his right wing when attempting to fly across Twinleaf Town to prove that he was capable of flying like the other Starlys, but instead he crashed into a fence near Dawn's house. He was unable to get up at all and his right wing really hurt, when Dawn came out of the house with a pouncing Pachirisu. Thinking the Pachirisu would hurt him, Hichou tried with all his might to escape but it was to no avail. But Dawn had only approached slowly and took him in her arms, and then raised him back to health.
When he had fully recovered, Dawn opened her window to let the little bird back to the wild but he refused to go. She thought his wing was still hurt, but Hichou only wanted to stay with Dawn and fight by her side. Accepting the little bird's wish, Hichou has never been happier. He actually evolved a week or so after being officially captured by Dawn.
Name: Han-gang, nicknamed Han-chan.
Breed: Milotic
Gender: Female
Personality: A very elegant creature resembling sea serpent, Han-gang is often very quiet and peaceful. She isn't used very often in battles, but when Dawn does call her out, Han-gang is very powerful. As a Milotic, she really dislikes battles and prefers the Contests more, but she's willing to do what Dawn wants her to. And though she doesn't like battles, Han-gang was very happy that Dawn kept her at her side instead of leaving her with Professor Rowan. This Milotic is also seen as wise and with an unbiased opinion, something that the other Pokémon in Dawn's team look up to.
History: Dawn had gotten Han-gang as a Feebas as a gift in Eterna City during her first journey to restore peace. Since then, Han-gang has always been by Dawn's side, quietly but watchful. Dawn had evolved the Feebas a few weeks after obtaining her and after gathering the proper berries to evolve Han-gang. This elegant Milotic was something like a powerhouse for Dawn's team. And even after peace was restored to Sinnoh, Han-gang still stays with Dawn.
Name: Jaejoong, nicknamed Jae-kun.
Breed: Pachirisu
Gender: Male
Personality: This Pachirisu has a happy-go-lucky attitude towards anything in life and loves pouncing around, that often gets him into trouble and Dawn has to often come through for the Pachirisu. But despite that, Jaejoong never fails to make Dawn or the rest of the team laugh, though some of the other Pokémon were irritated at how lighthearted he always was.. especially prior to a battle with Team Galactic. Even after restoring peace, Jaejoong still upkeeps his positive attitude and always trying to make Dawn happy.
History: Dawn met this Pachirisu very early on, shortly after getting her first Pokémon, Piplup from Professor Rowan. Jaejoong had been chased by a flock of Starlys after enraging them when he had just tried to play a prank on them. He ran in circles, trying to escape the many beaks that wanted to peck his both eyes out. That was when Jaejoong bumped into Dawn and Piplup, who saved his behind. Dawn simply calmed the flock of Starlys down with Piplup's help and after those birds flew away, Jaejoong knew he wanted to stay by Dawn's side. Jumping up and down excitedly, Dawn knew right away what Jaejoong wanted and tossed a Pokéball at the blue squirrel-like creature.
From then on, Pachirisu was Dawn's partner. While Dawn didn't really use him in Pokémon Battles, it was in Super Contests where the squirrel shone. Dressed cutely, he was, in a unique way, a contest powerhouse.
Roleplay Samples:
Third Person: Dawn stepped out of the Pokémon Center of Hearthome City, her right hand immediately raised to shield her eyes from the bright sunlight. What a sunny day, Dawn thought to herself. Perfect for another round at the contests! With that, Dawn walked out of the Center with her Pachirisu at her side, with a happy note in his steps.
"Are you ready for another day at the super contests, Jae-kun?" Dawn asked excitedly, looking down at Pachirisu.
The blue squirrel looked up at his trainer, his black eyes sparkling in the sunlight. "Pachi pachi!" Jaejoong said happily, his rather large (and almost disproportional) tail shaking wildly behind him. "Pachi!"
Dawn smiled fondly at her squirrel partner. "We're going to do our best today again, Jae-kun!"
"Pachi!" Jaejoong jumped up and down on its tail, and then jumped towards Dawn's arms. The young trainer caught her Pokémon quickly and pulled him into a warm embrace. Jaejoong closed his eyes and laid sleepily in Dawn's arms, a small amount of electricity sparking from his yellow cheeks but careful not to shock his trainer. "Paaachiiiii~..."
"You lazy Pachirisu," Dawn said, giggling. "But let's go to the Super Contest Hall now." Then, Dawn lowered her head closer to Pachirisu's and whispered, "I hear that there's a Nidoran in one of our matches... try to use spark and aim for the horn."
"Pachiii!" Jaejoong nodded happily, still snuggling in Dawn's arms.
She turned left, going passed a closed-door house that was situated next to the Pokémon Center. The sun was was bright, almost blinding Dawn if she hadn't taken a light-colored sunglasses with her. Jaejoong the Pachirisu was resting in her arms, eyes closed so that protected him from the strong sunlight that shone down on them.
It didn't take Dawn long before she reached the Super Contest Hall entrance. It was a circular dome building, the ceiling being concealed only on the front half while the latter was exposed to the open air. There was a crowd of people already at the entrance, but when was there not? Dawn took a deep breath and walked towards the blue-colored automatic doors.
First Person/Forum Post: I noticed there seems to be a lot of people in the Super Contest Hall. I guess they're all here for the same thing, prepping their star Pokémon for the contests.
I'm sure Jae-kun will do great! I believe in him. But it still feels kind of stuffy in here... Maybe I should talk try to talk to someone, just to ease the tension but I also don't want to break any routines they may be practicing at the last minute.
Oh, it's so conflicting...
